Tragedy strikes New York City.

Today, about 3:05pm a rented truck plowed through pedestrians at West Street and Chambers Street, on Manhattan's west side.

So far the casualties for such a situation are vast. Eight people have been lost in the attack and more than thirteen have been injured. Among the victims are five Argentinians and one Belgian. The "proud" driver of the truck left a note saying "ISIS Lives Forever." Further,
he has now been charged with federal terrorism offenses.

Not only did one witness say that 30-40 bicycles get thrown about, it is confirmed that the terrorist slammed into a school bus. Miraculously only 4 people on the bus were injured, two adults and too children.

The suspect who is now found to be 29 year old male Floridian resident, Sayfullo Habibullaevic Siapov. Found in his vehicle were a pellet gun, a paintball gun, a black bag containing knives and a wallet, a stun gun, a "document" with arabic and English text, and two cell phones.

Not officially armed with guns, but brandishing "imitation firearms" the man exited the vehicles to be stopped in his tracks by a brave police officer. The suspect was wounded, shot in the abdomen and transported to hospital, but not killed.

The imitation weapons turned out to be a paintball gun and a pellet gun.

Most concerning is where witnesses note hearing the terrorist yell "Allahu Akbar," Arabic for "God is great."

In our opinion, we see President Trump taking a ROOT stance on the issue of Islamic Terror and what has happened in New York.

Media outlets have chastised President for not making a larger more robust statement so early on, we however are pleased with this root addressing statement.

What we are witnessing is Islamic Terror, Islam is the issue here and lets get to that source which aims its death wish at everyday American Citizens on our streets. No one is exempt, unless you are Muslim.

Governor Andrew Cuomo  calls it a "lone wolf" situation. Cuomo called the situation an "act of terror."

From our view, this is a strong statement coming from Cuomo. It must be an election year. Yes, as a matter of fact it might just be the case.

Not to politicize things, everyone is saying. Unfortunately, as much as people say they are disgusted with the politicizing... this is exactly what Coumo just did. Had this been last year I am not so sure his speech would be so harsh. Ok, so in searching past bombing we found he sited "terrorism" before, he seems to conveniently leave out Islam in most cases, siding with de Blasio on root fundamentals of the Chelsea Bombing, read more here.

Is there a bigger web, to Terror, to Islam?

We might accept that this is a lone wolf situation, only, all of the "lone wolf" situations fit together. If this is indeed homeland terror tied to Islam, the root needs to be addressed. What is the root? Islam. Where does the root grow, in the hearts of man. How is the seed planted? By parents, family, friends, teachings at home or at mosques by Imams. Get to the root.

As more information is released about the suspect and motive it is important we keep in perspective that root tie. Media tends to let go the details in fear of being called racist, but facts are facts. Remember, Islam is not a race it is indeed not even a religion. Having a war based component (Zakat, the Fifth pillar of Islam) puts it in a class of its own, we have discussed this in previous posts.

Always, as we see with Islam, the impact isn't those affected by loss of life or injury. The depth are those who witnessed and struggle to cope with the war of the mind which has been carried out on our soil.

Our hearts go out to all of those impacted in New York and across America. When one American is hurt, we all hurt. Please continue to Pray for the Nation and New York City.
